Digenics builds and runs websites apps ERPs and AI products for UK clients. We are hiring a hands on Senior DevOps Engineer with strong AWS and microservices expertise to keep our platforms fast secure and reliable while enabling rapid delivery across multiple product teams.
What you will do
- Own AWS infrastructure VPC subnets security groups IAM KMS Route 53 CloudFront WAF ALB NLB
- Run containerised microservices on ECS Fargate or EKS including autoscaling health checks and zero downtime deploys
- Design service to service communication and discovery with API Gateway or ALB internal DNS and IRSA
- Build CI CD with GitHub Actions GitLab CI or AWS CodeBuild CodePipeline including blue green and canary releases feature flags and rollbacks
- Implement Infrastructure as Code with Terraform first CDK CloudFormation a plus
- Observability for microservices set up CloudWatch metrics logs alarms X Ray distributed tracing OpenTelemetry dashboards and actionable alerts
- Event driven patterns using SQS SNS EventBridge and optionally MSK Kafka for high throughput services
- Security by default least privilege IAM network segmentation secrets in Secrets Manager Parameter Store image scanning patching
- Reliability and DR multi AZ patterns backups with AWS Backup tested restores incident response and clear runbooks
- Cost optimisation right size resources Savings Plans RIs track bills with Cost Explorer and budgets
- Partner with engineering to containerise services improve build times and mentor teams on microservice best practices
About you
- 2 to 3 years in DevOps Platform or SRE with a deep focus on AWS in production
- Strong knowledge of microservices design deployment and troubleshooting including REST and or gRPC contracts versioning and backward compatibility
- Solid with Linux Git Docker Kubernetes and Terraform
- Confident scripting in Bash or Python with an automation first mindset
- Practical experience delivering secure CI CD for Node NET Python or PHP services and front ends
- Comfortable with networking TLS DNS caching and performance tuning
- Clear communicator who documents well and collaborates across backend frontend QA and product
- Bachelor’s degree in Computing or related field required
- Portfolio required IaC repos Helm charts pipeline configs architecture diagrams postmortems or similar proof of work
